Job Posting: Full Stack Developer

TMEA is expanding its team and seeking a skilled Full-Stack Developer to work full time at the TMEA office in Austin. The ideal candidate should be able to work independently and as part of a team on full-stack web projects in PHP, HTML/CSS, JavaScript/jQuery, MySQL or Claris FileMaker, and WordPress.

Working collaboratively with the Information Technologist, the full-stack developer will implement and support projects to further our mission and goals.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain custom web applications in PHP/HTML/JavaScript
  • Utilize MySQL and Claris FileMaker databases as applicable
  • Maintain and develop WordPress websites
  • Maintain and develop Claris FileMaker databases
  • Effectively communicate with stakeholders and team members to determine project goals
  • Effectively communicate with end users to support their use of our web applications
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
  • Manage project tasks, timelines, and communication
  • Support the annual convention onsite as needed
  • Support other TMEA projects as needed
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends
Qualifications

Preferred candidate would have a bachelor’s or associate degree in computer science or related field of study and three (3) years of relevant work experience. For candidates without a degree, six (6) years of relevant work experience. Qualifications include:

Proven experience in:

  • Working independently and as part of a team
  • PHP programming
  • HTML and CSS programming
  • JavaScript and jQuery programming
  • Connecting to REST APIs and developing WebHook endpoints
  • Knowledge of best practices in software programming

Preferred experience in:

  • Using version control and publishing tools such as Git
  • MySQL database
  • Claris FileMaker database
  • WordPress programming and/or maintenance
  • Working with minimal supervision to manage daily workload
  • High degree of independent judgment and attention to detail
  • Project management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills

Location and Travel
  • This position is based at the TMEA office in Austin, TX, and employees are expected to work from the office during business hours.
  • Except for working onsite during TMEA’s annual convention, travel is not typically required.
