Course Description
Success on the TExES Music Teacher License exam depends on several factors in addition to content knowledge and skill development. As much as we know (or think we know), our ability to demonstrate knowledge and skill is sometimes negatively impacted by factors we unintentionally neglect to consider. In this session, Dr. Eric Branscome will take an inside-out approach to preparing for the TExES Exam. He will examine both the test taker and the test questions in the context of psychology and educational learning theory, so you can gain a deeper understanding of the content, the questions, and how you can prepare for the test effectively. And while the short-term goal is passing the test (hopefully on the first attempt), we know the ultimate goal in learning the material to is to succeed in the classroom. In short, it’s not really about the test.
