2024–2025 TMEA All-State Mariachi Audition Material and Errata

Audition material for the Region and All-State Mariachi Ensembles will be selected from the TMEA All-State Mariachi Ensemble Audition Etudes.

Errata:

  • All-State Mariachi Violin Etude 1
    • m. 106: The note "E" on beat 2 should be marked with a down bow. (posted 8/1)
  • All-State Mariachi Violin Etude 2
    • m. 7: Clarification on the fingering marking: The note "A" should be played with 1st finger on the D string. The "o" belongs to the bracketed "G's" and indicates that the G natural harmonic should be played on the G string. 4th finger is suggested for the G harmonic. (posted 8/1)
    • m. 13: Add a slur to the last 2 notes of the measure. (posted 8/1)

Area Audition Results

Results for Area Mariachi - Saturday, Nov. 9 - Sunday, November 10.

RESULTS ARE CONSIDERED FINAL WHEN POSTED, RESULTS ARE SUBJECT TO THE APPEALS PROCESS FOR 72 HOURS.

All-State Members will be posted for public view on the TMEA website on Tuesday, November 12th at 9 AM.

  • It is a violation of TMEA policy and procedure to reproduce or share the Results for Directors documents in any fashion, physical or electronic.
  • The Results for Directors are for the private use of the TMEA Member Director/Sponsor and their students.
  • The Results for Directors are not to be considered final.
  • Violation of this policy is subject to the TMEA Grievance Process.

All-State Vocal Solo Auditions

After All-State Mariachi students are selected, vocal solo auditions will be held virtually before the convention. All-State Mariachi students may audition for multiple vocal solos. Additional information will be sent to directors/member-sponsors about the recording process.
